Happy Sunday Everyone!! This week’s blog will be pretty short because I had a migraine for the majority of the week which was quite unfortunate but I still learned so much because of it. It started on Monday afternoon and persisted on until Friday and I slept most of each day but through it I saw how much my team and squad mates truly care about me. They checked up on me constantly, got me anything I needed, rubbed my head and said prayers over me. I learned how to be taken care of which can sometimes be harder than taking care of other people. I am so thankful for all the people who took care of me this week.

Saturday afternoon we went out to the Gainesville Town Square and passed out flowers to people and it was so cool to tangibly see people’s faces light up when you hand them a flower and tell them they are beautiful and that Jesus loves them. Such a simple act that brought so much joy.

And then this morning my friend Remy and I gave the church teaching. Every Sunday we do squad church and one of us racers gives the teaching and this week Remy was asked to do it. Saturday morning I came down to breakfast and Remy asked me if I wanted to do it with her. It took a while to decide what we were going to do it on and ended up teaching on anxiety and how to lean on the Lord through it and how people who don’t struggle with anxiety can help fellow squad mates through it when needed. I was super nervous to do it because I have never done anything like it before but it went really well and I am glad I did it.

This week my squad hiked Mount Yonah which was so beautiful and they all really enjoyed it so if you wanna hear more about it go and read someone’s else’s blog from my squad. (They did this on one of the worst days of my migraine so I did not go.)

A week from today we leave for Black Mountain, North Carolina which we are all so excited about so prayers that we can enjoy this last week here at camp but also get excited for what’s to come!

Thank you for reading, God bless you all!

Love, Lauren

  7. I’m so sorry to hear about the migraine but happy you let others take care of you when you needed it. That can be hard when you are used to be the caretaker. Be well Lo.
